To liven up the Grand Baking Demo Cirebon event, PT. Manunggal Perkasa held a Fried Chicken Competition with participants from street vendors specializing in fried chicken in the Ciayumajakuning area. The event was joined by 30 participants, and there were no participation fees (free of charge). In addition, all participants received aprons and ingredients provided by PT. Manunggal Perkasa, including chicken, high-protein wheat flour (Kantil), cooking oil, and gas. The participants were enthusiastic and eager to take part in the competition.

This fried chicken competition among SMEs aimed to introduce the benefits of using high-protein wheat flour (Kantil) from PT. Manunggal Perkasa in the making of fried chicken. It also sought to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs by improving the quality of their products in terms of taste, texture, seasoning innovations, and frying techniques.

The participants presented various flavor variations, textures, and preparation techniques. The competition was judged by a panel of experts in the food industry, including Chef Anthonie Audran, Mr. Hariyatno, Mr. Siyam, Chef Duryat, Mr. Suyoto, and Chef Ana. In addition to judging, the panelists also provided feedback on the taste, texture, and presentation of each entry. Five winners were selected in the competition. The winners were: 1st place: UKM Ayam Geprek Irawan, 2nd place: UKM Ibrahim Fried Chicken, 3rd place: UKM Ay Fried Chicken, Hope 1: UKM Keisya Fried Chicken, Hope 2: UKM Ayam Geprek Nusantara

Through this fried chicken competition, PT. Manunggal Perkasa hopes that SMEs will better understand the characteristics and benefits of using high-protein wheat flour (Kantil), which can improve the quality of their fried chicken. Additionally, this event aims to promote local cuisine, raise the popularity of fried chicken, and create business opportunities for the participants to increase sales.

Another benefit of the competition is that it encourages participants to innovate and create new menu variations that can attract a broader customer base. This event also serves as a platform for bringing together the fried chicken SME community, fostering stronger ties among the participants. (Nana Ria)
