HISTORY OF PT MANUNGGAL PERKASA
THE MILLING FACILITY WAS FOUNDED IN 1995 AND INAUGURATED ON APRIL 17, 1997, BY INDONESIA’S PRESIDENT, SOEHARTO
Commercial production commenced in February 1997 in Cilacap, Central Java, marking the beginning of a significant venture. The choice of this location was based on several advantageous factors. Firstly, there were no other flour milling facilties located in the southern part of Java island. Additionally, Tanjung Intan Port in Cilacap, a natural harbor covered by Nusakambangan Island, offered all-season deep water access with a considerably low shallowing rate.
Following its establishment, the facility underwent continuous expansions. The silo’s capacity was increased from 75,000 metric tonnes to 90,000 metric tonnes, while the warehouse’s capacity for finished products was extended from 3,750 metric tones to 9,000 metric tonnes.
Integrated wheat transporting systems were implemented to transfer grain from mother vessels to the facility, utilizing high-power suction and cranes. This upgrade allowed fo the continuous discharge of 96,000 metric tonnes of grain without the risk of demurrage. Consequently, the daily production capacity surged from 1,000 metric tones to 1,200 metric tonnes.
