An internship program is not only crucial for students or scholars but also brings benefits to the company. For a company, an internship program can serve as a platform to select quality candidates, gain fresh perspectives and new ideas from external sources, and even enhance overall productivity. It also acts as a promotional tool for the company to increase its recognition among the general public.
An internship program involves hands-on learning in the field or workplace environment. Its aim is to develop the skills of students or scholars while introducing them to the working world. Therefore, in principle, an internship is similar to a job because participants are assigned tasks and responsibilities. The key difference lies in the fact that interns are not bound by an employment contract and do not receive wages.
PT. Manunggal Perkasa regularly accepts students or scholars who wish to undertake internship activities. Typically, participants come from various educational institutions, both public and private, located near the company and from several areas outside Cilacap. Examples include students from Cilacap State Polytechnic, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health in Semarang, Diponegoro University, Jendral Sudirman University, Telkom University, as well as vocational schools, both public and private, in Cilacap.
Interns at PT Manunggal Perkasa are generally placed in several departments, including the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department. There are several benefits for participants, such as direct involvement in tasks related to Occupational Health and Safety (K3) and Environment, understanding the roles and functions of the HSE Department, and providing constructive criticism and input to the HSE Department and PT Manunggal Perkasa as a whole.
The relationship established between interns and the company undoubtedly creates positive value for both parties. For the company, it enhances its recognition among academic circles, while for interns, it increases their insights into the working world.
