PROPER stands for Public Disclosure Program for Environmental Compliance, initiated by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia. It assesses and ranks companies based on their environmental management performance. Originally established in 1995 as PROPER PROKASIH, the program was temporarily halted in 1998, but resumed in 2002 with expansions and innovations introduced in 2014.
PROPER is a governmental policy aimed at improving corporate environmental management performance in accordance with existing regulations. It promotes transparency and democratization in environmental management in Indonesia. The implementation of PROPER reflects the principles of good governance, including transparency, fairness, accountability, and community engagement.
It’s important to note that PROPER does not replace conventional compliance instruments such as civil or criminal environmental law enforcement. Instead, it synergizes with other compliance instruments to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of environmental quality improvement efforts.
Following the enactment of Ministry Regulation No. 1/2021, PT Manunggal Perkasa has consistently made efforts to comply with environmental management regulations. Over three consecutive periods—2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023—PT Manunggal Perkasa has been awarded the Blue ranking under PROPER. The Blue ranking signifies that the company has fulfilled environmental management requirements as stipulated by applicable laws and regulations.
